Sun-struck, stuck in mid tropic strut, it sometimes standsas if considering how to cool avian plastic, dive into the mown lagoon of lawn;how take flight on dayglow flap-doodle wings, no matterif it is ball-bald going nowhere fast.

About This Quote

Sun-struck, stuck in mid tropic strut, it sometimes standsas if considering how to cool avian plastic, dive into the mown lagoon of lawn;how take flight on dayglow flap-doodle wings, no matterif it is ball-bald going nowhere fast.” This poem is about a bird that loves everything bright and shiny. It loves the brightness of the sky, the brightness of the sun, and even the brightness in itself. However, when it goes outside and sees all that brightness for the first time it is taken aback by all that light without any shade. The bird then tries to adapt to its new surroundings by putting its feathers down to protect itself from the harsh rays of the sun.

One problem with adapting to its new surroundings is that it can’t fly. Because its feathers are so bright they reflect back onto itself and make it look like a ball of useless fluff. It gets so frustrated it even contemplates suicide but eventually decides against it because if it were to die it would be without any chance at flying again.
